Jane G. Flower

Jane Flower, 90, passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Pebble Creek Care Center.
Jane was born November 27, 1924 to Donald and Grace (Hoodlett) Helmkee in Newark, OH and was an Akron area resident for most of her life. She was a gifted artist, seamstress and athlete skilled at basketball, swimming, gymnastics and bowling. Mom was talented and could have been many things in her life, but she chose to be a wife and mother.
She was a member of LifeSpring Christian Church. She served as a Deaconess for LifeSpring, sang in the church choir and played in the church orchestra. She was a member of the David Hill Mother Singers, Eastern Star and Sewing Club with her South High School friends.
Jane was preceded in death by her beloved husband John in 2001 and siblings Donna Ecker, Marjorie Lowery, JoAnn Shank and Donald Helmkee. She is survived by her children Jerry (Denise) Flower, Janice (Richard) Breitenbach and Joellen (Bill) Jubara, sister Joyce Bender, grandchildren Jeffrey and John (Kim) Flower, David and Shemie Ann Breitenbach, Lisa (Marty) Tuck, Rachel (Steve) Vines, Jessica Davis, Pam (Justin) Chmiel and Leah and Jane Jubara, great grandchildren Jonathan, Christopher and Aiden Flower, Brian Tuck, Celeste Browning, Spencer and Jackson Vines, Anthony and Micah, and Sebastian and Regina Chmiel.
The family will receive friends Sunday 3 to 6 pm at the Anthony and Son Funeral Home, 4178 Massillon Road (corner of Massillon and Steese Roads in Green, entrance off of Steese Rd.) where funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 am., Pastor Terry Baker officiating.
