Jane ("Toots") DiDonato (Kostelny) loving Sister and Aunt passed away peacefully with family by her side Saturday April 1, 2023, just 4 days shy of her 91st birthday. Proceeded in death by the love of her life of 67 years Tony DiDonato, her Mother Mary Rowley (Kostelny) and her Sister Joan Beers.
Jane is survived by her brother and sister-in-law Jerry and Diana Kostelny, nieces Kim Armstrong (Kostelny) and Theresa Helmacy, brother and sister-in-law Eugene and Bonnie DiDonato, brother-in-law Bobby DiDonato and sister-in-law Patty DiDonato as well as many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Jane graduated from East High School and was a resident of Akron, Ohio her entire life. Jane met Tony in 1948, they were engaged in 1950 and married at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Akron October 16, 1954. Her and Tony celebrated their 67th anniversary in 2021.
She was committed to family, faith and always lending a listening ear to anyone who needed her advice. Jane was involved in many charity organizations such as IBH, Knights of Columbus, St. Paul's Catholic Church plus many, many more. Her giving heart was as big as her beautiful smile. In 2020 Jane and Tony established an endowed scholarship in the College of Business Administration at Tony's U of A alma mater.
Jane wore many hats, literally, as she accompanied Tony to Cleveland Indians, Browns and Cavaliers games for many years as well as traveling the world with Tony. She also became an avid golfer and bowler. She was a member of K of C Wives and served as President of their bowling league for many years.
A very special thank you to Honest Home Care, LLC - Promisse, Kimiana, Renee and Kiaire for the loving care they provided for Jane the last 15 months and to Crossroads Hospice. Jane loved you all.
Jane's beautiful life will be celebrated with calling hours at Anthony Funeral Home, 1990 S. Main St, Akron, Ohio Monday, April 10, 2023 from 4pm to 7pm with Rosary at 6:45. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 1580 Brown St, Akron, Ohio Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will immediately follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
