James "Jim" Weiser

James Weiser, 68, passed away December 24, 2025 after a long illness.

Jim was born January 1, 1957 in Ravenna to Dr. John Weiser and Lenora Weiser nee Brewster. He graduated from Kent Roosevelt High School in 1975 and then attended Kent State University where he graduated in 1980. Jim was a string music teacher in Wooster City Schools for 30 years. He was also a choir director at many churches and recorded and played music with various other musicians. Jim was most excited about being a girl dad to Noelle and Hope.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his brother David Weiser. He is survived by his wife of 45 years Lisa Weiser nee Antognoli; daughters Noelle and Hope; granddaughter Vera; brother Michael; sister-in-law Opal; and mother-in-law Tee Antognoli.

Funeral service will be held Monday, January 19, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Anthony Funeral Home- Akron Chapel, located at 1990 S. Main St., followed by a luncheon at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the International Institute of Akron.
