IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James G.
Tenney
July 25, 1963 – May 3, 2024
James, (Jim, Jimmy, Jimbo) G. Tenney (60) lost his battle to cancer on May 3, 2024. He was born on July 25, 1963 & lived most of his life in Northeast Ohio & just a couple years in Florida. He worked almost 30 years as a Lab Technician and retired from Akrochem Corporation.
Proceeded in death by his lovely mother Paula M. King who we know greeted him at the gates with open arms and all the chicken enchiladas he could possibly eat. As well as his father, Jimmy E. Tenney, step mom Sue Tenney, Uncle Bob Martz & many other wonderful family members and pets we know helped him cross the path to heaven.
Survived by his wonderful wife Cathy Tenney who he absolutely adored, his daughters Carmen Tenney (James Shaw), Sophia Tenney & Latasha Exter (Mike Exter) who he would have stopped the world for, his step sons Louis Aristide, Angelo Aristide & Dominic Aristide (AnneMarie Aristide), his grandchildren Giauna Lee Shaw, Jordyn Rae Shaw, Draylen James Shaw, Mary Kathryn Aristide & Michael Anthony Aristide, his step father Thomas King who stepped up and was there for him as his father his whole life, many amazing aunts & uncles, especially his best friend Ronald Drushal (Uncle Ron) his "brother" and his aunts aka "nurses" Vicki Drushal & Marie Christenson (Eric Christenson), Aunt Toni Martz, so many cousins, so many friends, and his beloved four legged best friend, Murphy.
Before the cancer, Jim enjoyed fishing, golfing, watching the Browns lose, going to yard sales, he was his daughter Carmen's softball coach growing up, and just spending time with his family. In his younger years he spent a lot of time playing drums in a band, Blackout, with his life long friends Johnny Brunswick & Dave Richardson! He played in a few other bands over the years as well, the last one called "The New Regime". He could listen to a song one time and play the drums back perfectly without knowing how to read music! He told the goofiest jokes and made everyone laugh any chance he could but the best part, was his laugh. Loud and contagious. He was a light in this world and his presence will be missed beyond measure. There aren't enough words in the world to describe how much of an amazing person he was. He was as funny as he was wise. He brought so much happiness to any room he walked into and this family will never be the same.An amazing husband, father, stepfather, papa, son, uncle, nephew, brother-in-law, friend and just a great man. A true legend. He will be missed beyond compare.
Calling hours will be on Saturday, May 11 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Dunn-Quigley Stow Chapel (3333 Kent Rd. at Rt. 91). A memorial service will follow at 4:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or an animal shelter of your choice.
