James Harry Ross

James H. Ross, 75, passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. Born in Akron on February 28th, 1949, and a proud graduate of Kenmore High School. Jim dedicated 40 years to a career at First Energy and attended Wilmington College in Wilmington, Ohio.


Jim found his greatest joy in watching his children excel in sports, both in high school and college, never missing a game. He could often be found on the sidelines with a camera in hand, capturing their memorable moments. Most recently, he spent time traveling across the country to support his grandchildren as they thrived in their athletic endeavors. Jim loved to be on the road, embracing his free spirit, while also finding joy in gardening, fishing and art.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Emmett Louis and Anna Elizabeth (McCombs) Ross; his beloved wife, Susan Marie (Pecko) Ross, to whom he missed dearly, and will now be reunited in heaven; and his brother, William Ross. He is survived by his children: Jim Ross and wife Nicole, Nate Ross and wife Melissa, Krista (Ross) Seals and husband Wade, and Michael Ross; his brothers, Dave Ross and Jack Ross and wife Vickie; and his cherished grandchildren, Madden, Leila, Logan, Lilly, Maggie, Vivian, and Lincoln.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 5, 2025 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home of Green, 4178 Massillon Rd. Uniontown, Ohio 44685 (corner of Steese and Massillon Roads in Green, entrance off Steese Road) where a blessing will be given at 6 p.m. Private interment Thursday at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron.
