IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James Michael
Rosinski
August 24, 1940 – September 13, 2024
James M. Rosinski, 84, beloved husband, father, "Papa", son and brother, was called to his eternal rest on September 13, 2024 in Akron, Ohio, following a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Jim was born on August 24, 1940, in Toledo, OH, to the late Stephen and Agnes Rosinski (nee: Wietrzykowski). Jim attended St. Ann's elementary school in Toledo and then pursued his vocational calling in religion entering the Catholic seminary in high school at Holy Cross Seminary on the campus of Notre Dame. He then attended St. Mary's College where his religious studies were interrupted when he was called to return to the family's home to assist in caring for his ailing father. Once back in Toledo, he rekindled a friendship and ultimately a romance with the love of his life, Mary Lou, and they embarked on their life's journey together.
Jim was employed in the plastics industry as a technical sales representative working for several different domestic and international companies before retiring from Akron-based Akrochem. While his vocational plans in religion did not follow their original path, he remained a very faith-filled man serving his Catholic faith throughout his life. He was a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Parish in Stow for over 50 years where he served as a lay minister and usher there for many of those years. Jim was also a veteran having served in the National Guard and Army Reserves from 1963 to 1969 attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant before receiving his honorable discharge.
Jim enjoyed taking care of his yard and property. It was his passion. He prided himself in an immaculate lawn and a snow/ice free driveway and sidewalk. He enjoyed reading, especially Whodunnits and anything related to the Civil War. He cherished spending time with his family including the biennial family "pilgrammage" to Maumee Bay State Park. He and Mary Lou loved to host family holiday parties where there was always an abundance of laughter especially as the Rosinski clan grew in size.
In addition to his parents, Jim was also preceded in death by his four brothers, Steve, Norman, Ron, and Robert Rosinski. He is survived by his wife of almost 63 years, Mary Lou Rosinski (nee: Smith), sons Robert (Jane) Rosinski, Daniel (Janet) Rosinski and daughter Diane (Sam) Bunnell; He is also survived by his 10 grandchildren of whom he was incredibly proud--Lauryn, Kathryn Wright (Chris) & Daniel Rosinski; Michael, Garrett, Matthew & David Rosinski; Leanne, Patrick and Nicole Bunnell.
Family will receive friends Friday September 20, 2024 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm in the Dunn Quigley Funeral Home at 3333 Kent Rd, Stow, OH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday September 21, 2024 at 11:00 am in the Holy Family Catholic Church 3179 Kent Rd. Stow OH., with Fr. Michael McCandless officiating. Committal to follow in Silver Springs Cemetery Stow, OH.
