James Earl Moore

April 27, 1929 — January 27, 2022

James E. Moore, 92, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2022 at his home.
He was born in St. Louis, Missouri and lived in Mayfield, KY until 1950. He worked for Aircraft Braking Systems, retiring as a supervisor in 1991. He was a member of the Top Ten Club during his tenure. With his strong work-ethic, James continued to work at F.M. Machine until he was 88 years old. He was an avid bowler & fisherman. James loved baseball, enjoying the Cleveland Indians and the St. Louis Cardinals. His passing has left his family with a hole in their hearts.
James was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elizabeth Jean; precious sons, Larry Dale "Butch" and Gary Lynn "PeeWee" Bazzell; parents Lennis Moore & C.L. McAlpin; sisters Louella Pearce & Faye; & brother Junior Moore. He will be deeply missed by his daughter Jennifer (Jim) Meyer; son Lenny; brother Danny (Jane Ann) McAlpin; cherished grandchildren Lynn (Keith) Hale, Lauri Bazzell, Christopher Bazzell, & Justin (Seonhwa) Meyer; great-grandchildren Dylan (Stef) Lehmier, Dabin and Cassidy; daughter-in-law Jean Bazzell; and many nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to his caregivers and to Crossroads Hospice.
Due to the rapid spread of COVID and other family illnesses, the family will have private services with Pastor Sam Martin officiating. Interment at Hillside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Firestone Park UMC , 250 North Firestone Blvd, Akron OH 44301.
