James E. Doney

Jim E. Doney, 64 passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2019.
He was born in Barberton and was a member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church. Jim had a lifetime of emotional and especially physical disabilities following a devastating car accident at the age of 13. We find our hearts heavy, yet relieved that he has been called to a new realm of peace and freedom from pain. Prior to his accident Jim was an avid fisherman, sports player and an extremely hard worker. He was a very loving, caring person at an extremely young age, with a heart of gold. His charismatic and joyful personality touched many. May his soul soar with the freedom he once knew. Rest in a peace that he's not experienced for many many years.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Florence (Young); sister, Darlene Pine; and brother, Bill. He is survived by brothers, Bob (Mary) and Pete (Terry); and sisters, Patricia Glatz and Lori Nixon.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, 11 a.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. Akron, Ohio 44301. Interment at St. Nicholas Cemetery in Akron. The family will receive friends Friday, 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Donations may be made to the American Heart Association. (Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, Akron)
