Jim Dolson, 68, passed away on August 9, 2021 after a courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer.
Jim was born in Rochester, NY on October 21, 1952 to the late Thomas Sr. and Helen Dolson. Jim had been a resident of Stow and surrounding areas for most of his life. He was a 1970 graduate of Walsh Jesuit High School and graduated from the University of Akron with a Bachelor's degree in business & marketing. Jim worked for Roadway Express and in the trucking industry for many years and most recently worked as a highway inspector for ODOT. He was a faithful member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Jim was an avid golfer and was a huge Buffalo Bills fan. Jim was one of the kindest people you'll ever meet and he liked everyone he ever met. Most of all, he loved his family.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his brother Bill Dolson. He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Brenda; his son and daughter-in-law Jason & Heather Dolson; brothers Tom (Sue) Jr., Jerry (Silvia), & Tim Dolson; sisters Donna (Mike) Pelech, Betsy (Greg) Selzer, Sue (Ken) Zadel, & Helene (Todd) Swensen; sister-in-law Marylou Dolson, as well as numerous nieces & nephews.
Special thanks to Dr. Jordan Winter and his surgical team at UH Hospitals for their outstanding care and to the Hospice of Western Reserve for their compassion during the last days of Jim's life.
The family will receive friends on Friday, August 13, from 9-11 am at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12 pm at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church 4019 Manchester Rd. Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron.
