James Raymond Colant

James R. Colant, 64, passed away Sunday, December 23, 2018.
Jim was born September 3, 1954 to Thomas and Anna (Mazur) Maxwell in Akron and had been an Akron area resident his entire life.  He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Ravenna.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Anna, his foster father Joseph Colant and sister and brother-in-law Patty and Glenn Scarpelli.  He is survived by his foster mother Margaret (Maggie) Colant; siblings Andrew Maxwell, Gerard (Jo) Colant, Peggy (Mark) Wichman, Helen (Michael) Rothberg and Christopher (Marcia) Colant and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday January, 5, 2019 at 11:00 am at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1580 Brown St., Akron OH 44301 where the family will receive friends one hour prior to services.
