James Joseph Belinsky

April 14, 1933 — June 21, 2025

James J. Belinsky, 92, loving Husband, Father, and Pap left this world peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Saturday, June 21st, 2025. Jim was born on April 14, 1933, to the late Joseph and Stella Belinsky in Spangler, PA.
Jim was a simple man who was strong, hardworking and loved his family. He was drafted and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After which he moved to Ohio to find work and married the love of his life Judy Regan, who was from the same little town of Bakerton, PA. They settled and started a family making their new home here in Akron, Ohio. He never forgot where he came from and treasured his trips back to his childhood home where he enjoyed fishing, hunting and just spending time in the woods. He worked at General Tire until it closed in 1982. He later worked and retired from The University of Akron where he worked as a painter. He loved to brag about painting the lines on the Akron Zips then Rubber Bowl. After retirement he kept busy painting for his children. He was a member of Saint Paul's Catholic Church in Firestone Park.
Jim loved dancing with his wife, especially to the polka. He was also an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He could be found most evenings enjoying a cold beer sitting on the porch or out back working on his swimming pool, tending to his roses, grapevines, or tinkering in his garage which was his castle. He was also known for his horseshoe parties or playing shuffleboard. He enjoyed riding his bicycle and sitting on the lawn at the Firestone Stadium watching his kids play softball. He loved babysitting his grandchildren and enjoyed watching them and his greatgrandchildren play a variety of sports. He loved his Chevy blazers and his van and traveled frequently to tournaments with the grandkids and created wonderful memories taking yearly family trips to Florida on Spring Break. He had such a great sense of humor and made every kid feel so special AND he was ALWAYS the All-Day Pitcher so everyone had a chance. WE will deeply miss him "getting our buggies".
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his brother Paul. He will be deeply missed by his loving and devoted wife of 67 years Judy who took such good care of him right to the very end; his five children James (Laurie) Belinsky, Daniel Belinsky, Terri (Dennis) McGlone, Kimberly (Terry) Robinson, and Debra (Michael) Perkins; thirteen grandchildren: Tyler Belinsky, Raegan (Tyler) Gomes, Jeffrey (Samantha) Belinsky, Alex (Maria) Belinsky, Dennis Jr. (Joy) McGlone, Jessica (Christopher) Quartuccio, Matthew (Heather) McGlone, Seth, Shane (Sadie), and Sydney Robinson, Michael Jr. (Rama) Perkins, Olivia (Nicholas) Reale, and Haley (Reid Allen) Perkins; Great Grandchildren Emmett, Roselyn, Jack, Eden, Mason, Ava, Charlotte, Beau, Cooper, Nico, Leo, and arriving soon Madelyn and baby girl Belinsky; sister Dory Malloy; in laws Vic (MaryAnn)Regan, Bill (Denise)Lane and John Dorefice; and several nieces and nephews.
