James Westley Bare

James W. Bare, 83, passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2026.

Jim was born in Akron on October 18, 1942, and was raised with his brother Larry & sister Sandy and was a lifelong area resident. He served in the US Navy during Vietnam from December 28, 1961 to April 22, 1966. Jim married his wife Mary on May 24, 1986 and they lived in Uniontown for over 40 years. He was a manager for Bank One for many years. Afterwards, he built his own handyman/construction company. Despite his grumpy demeanor, Jim loved spending time with his family.

Jim is survived by his wife Mary; daughters Shiela Eckroate and Misty Collins; stepchildren David Tierney, Stacie (Dave) Einloth, and daughter-in-law Lisa Tierney; grandchildren Kaitlyn Eckroate, Rachel Collins, Crystal Collins, Deven Collins, Jesse Collins, Robert McMullen, Tayna McMullen, David Tierney, Danielle (Justin) Dumke, Tristan Tierney, Devin Tierney, Logan Tierney, Morgan (Bryant) Pratt, Sam Nelson, Kyle Einloth and Megan Einloth; and great-grandchildren Jace and Kristina. He was preceded in death by his father Ovid J. Bare and his mother Mary Ellen Sunken; and stepson Brian Tierney.

Burial will be at 1:15PM on Monday, June 22, 2026 at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Road in Rittman, with full military honors. All are welcome; if attending, please arrive promptly by 1:00PM.
