Irene Marie Lazar

Irene M. Lazar, 98 passed away Friday, February 2, 2018 Groundhog Day in Mount Airy, North Carolina. She was born in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. Mrs. Lazar was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Tallmadge. She enjoyed crocheting and gardening. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cedric and Adella Sitosky; husband, John; son, John; 6 sisters; and 7 brothers. She is survived by her children, Joyce (John) Nieschwitz; Ron (Kathy) Lazar and Marlene (John) Petroff; daughter-in-law, Helen Lazar; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral service will be held Thursday, 10 a.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. Akron, Ohio 44301 where the family will receive friends from 9 to 10 a.m. Fr. John Hengle officiating. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
