Ignaz "John" Burgardt, age 83, of Canton, passed away Friday morning at Mercy Hospital in Canton.

Ignaz was born in Pfeifer, Russia on December 15, 1931 to the late George and Margaretha Burgardt; he immigrated in 1952 to the United States. He was an Iron Worker for 28 years with Ornamental Iron, and worked for 18 years at ARC Machine; he enjoyed Golfing, Fishing, Billards, and he loved to dance!

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his wives Marlene, Annette, and Ruth; brothers Florian and Eugene, and sister Agusta.

Ignaz is survived by his children Leroy Burgardt, Cindy (James) Lombardo, and Robert (Dana) Burgardt. six grandchildren, Ryan Luette, Stefanie Abbott, Brandon Burgardt, Andrew Vanas, Rebecca Burgardt, and Joshua Burgardt; a sister Erma (Warner) Eggers, his brother Adolf Burgardt, and sister-in-law Hilda Burgardt.

Friends may call 4-8PM Monday at the Dunn-Quigley Funeral Home, 811 Grant Street in Akron, where the funeral service will be at 11AM on Tuesday. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
