Howard S. Tifft

-CUYAHOGA FALLS Howard S. Tifft, 95, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2015 in Cuyahoga Falls. Born in Cuyahoga Falls on October 2, 1919, Howard had been a falls resident for most of his life. He was a graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School and Kent State University. Howard retired as the office manager of the Lawson Milk Co. in 1982. He continued to serve as the treasurer of the company credit union until 1992. Howard served his country as a member of the US Army during WWII. He was a member of the United Presbyterian Church of Cuyahoga Falls for over 50 years. Howard was a train enthusiast. The sound of a train whistle would always perk up his ears. Preceded in death by his wife Thelma in 2004, Howard is survived by his children Judi (Richard) Reed of North Canton and Kenneth Norman (Sally) Tifft of Cuyahoga Falls; grandchildren Kevin Miller, Jolene (Guy) Papp, Eric Guesman, Erin (Orlando) Dotson, and Nikki Tifft; 7 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, May 14, 12:00 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home MCGOWAN-REID & SANTOS CHAPEL 247 Stow Ave. (at 3rd. St., one block north of Portage Trail) in Cuyahoga Falls, where the family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Cuyahoga Falls. Because Howard was an avid animal lover, the family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to The Humane Society of Greater Akron 7996 Darrow Rd. Twinsburg, OH 44087.
