Helen Marie Mcdowell

Helen Marie McDowell (Mullin) died peacefully in her home on October 2, 2014 surrounded by her family.
She was born on February 7, 1954 in Greenville, Mississippi to the late Joseph & Terese Mullin Sr. A longtime area resident, Helen was a devoted wife and mother, dedicated to her Catholic faith, and proudly served her country for eight years as a US woman Marine.
In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her brother George and her niece Alexandria. She is survived by her husband of 22 years, Kurt; her children Erik (Diana) McDowell of Stow, Angelita (Keith) Hood of Mentor, Gennine (Matthew) Null of Wadsworth, & Anthony Hehr of Cuyahoga Falls; grandchildren John, Lee, Katelyn, Krista, Terese, Kurt, Gabriel, Charlie, & Liam. She also leaves behind 11 siblings and many beloved nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, from 4-6 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home MCGOWAN-REID & SANTOS CHAPEL 247 Stow Ave. (at 3rd. St., one block north of Portage Trail) in Cuyahoga Falls, where a rosary will be said at 5:30 pm. A Requiem High Mass will be celebrated on Monday, 10:30 am at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel 2935 Chenoweth Rd. Akron, OH 44312. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery in Northfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any pro-life organization, Stewart's Caring Place 2955 W. Market St. Fairlawn, OH 44333, or to Wags for Warriors PO BOX 41191 Brecksville, OH 44141.
