Helen Martha Bertison

Helen Bertison, 87, went home to be with the Lord on March 8, 2013.
Born in Akron on February 5, 1926 to the late Frank & Therizia Bohm, Helen had been an Akron resident her entire life. She worked for over 20 years as an intake clerk at Barberton Citizen's Hospital. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and enjoyed bingo, crocheting, & gardening. She also loved quilting and had made many quilts over the years.
In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband Alexander Bertison; son Daniel Bertison & daughter Chris Bertison; brothers Mathias, Frank, Joseph, & Paul. She is survived by her sons Alan (Pamela) of FL, Mark (Maryann) of KS, Chuck (Cheryl) of Akron, & Douglas (Kim) of Akron, as well as 10 grandchildren & 6 great-grandchildren; brother Lawrence Bohm of Akron & lifetime friend Helen Zimmerman of Akron.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Mercy Hospice as well as all of the staff at the Chapel Hill Retirement Community for their outstanding care.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 10-11 am at the Anthony Funeral Home KUCKO-ANTHONY-KERTESZ CHAPEL, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 am at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1580 Brown St. in Akron. Fr. Ralph Thomas, Celebrant. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Haven of Rest Ministries 175 East Market Street Akron, OH 44308.
