Helen M. Barger

Helen Madeline Barger, 99, of Cuyahoga Falls, passed away May 16, 2023, at Jennings at Brecksville in Brecksville, Ohio. Helen was born on September 4th, 1923 in Akron, Ohio, to the late Dominic and Rose (Carano) Testa. She served in the United States Army during WWII with the Women's Army Corps (WAC) unit. Helen was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Paul Barger, and her siblings Salvatore and Anthony Testa and Dorothy Weigel. Helen is survived by her children Diane (Martin) Caruso, Kenneth Barger, David Barger, and Paul (Karen) Barger, as well as eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren,and one great-great-granddaughter. The family would like to thank the staff at Jennings for the compassionate care given to their mother. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 19, from 5-7 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home McGowan-Reid & Santos Chapel, 247 Stow Ave. (at 3rd. St., one block north of Portage Trail) in Cuyahoga Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 20, 1 pm, at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Cuyahoga Falls. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Jennings at Brecksville.
