Gunther T. Reppl

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Gunther Reppl on Sunday, April 12, 2026.

Gunther was born in Akron, Ohio to Erna and Tony Reppl and he was a lifelong area resident. He attended St. Paul's Grade School and graduated from Garfield High School in 1976. Gunther began his career in the plastic industry working for his father in the family business. He continued working in manufacturing at Michael Day Industries and then Radici Plastics, USA., where he worked for over 30 years. Throughout his career, Gunther established himself as a hard-working, dedicated, and loyal employee. He was a generous, thoughtful, and caring man who was a friend to everyone he met.

Gunther had many interests and hobbies. He started playing soccer at St. Paul's and was a long-time member of the German Family Society Soccer Team. He loved skiing and was a ski instructor at Boston Mills Ski Resort. He liked to be outside and when he had time, he enjoyed a round of golf with his co-workers. He became very skilled in woodworking and building things and he was often fixing things around the house. He never missed an opportunity to go to Menards to find the right tool he would need to complete the project.

Gunther is preceded in death by his father Tony and his son Eric. He is survived by his loving wife Kathy; son Michael; mother Erna; sister Ingrid; brother-in-law Kevin; and loving relatives Annemarie Leipply, Martina Bruno, Max (Dani) Bruno, and Antonia Bruno, along with many other loved ones.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 from 5-7PM at the Anthony Funeral Home-Akron Chapel, 1990 S. Main Street in Akron, Ohio where a funeral service will be held at 7PM. Private burial at Moore's Chapel Cemetery.
