Gloria Ann Jankowski

Gloria Ann Jankowski, 71, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2015 in Akron.
Gloria was born in Akron on September 25, 1943 to the late Anna and Stanley Jankowski. She was a longtime member of the former St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and she worked for the Weaver School giving lectures and helping with rehabilitation. Gloria was a poet, a musician, an animal lover; she was generous and kind and will be greatly missed.
In addition to her parents, Gloria was preceded in death by her brother Stanley Jankowski; niece Cathy Luyster and nephew Todd Jankowski. She is survived by her sister-in-law Christine Jankowski; niece Holly (Terry) Walsh; great-nieces and nephew Haley Walsh, Spencer Luyster and Hannah Luyster.
A big thank you to the staff at Manor Care of Akron for the compassionate care and support Gloria received. Also thanks to the VNS Hospice for their care of Gloria.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 23 from 5-7 PM at the Anthony Funeral Homes, Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron. A funeral service will be held 11 Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will immediately follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pawsibilities Humane Society of Greater Akron, 7996 Darrow Rd., Twinsburg, OH 44087 or to Hospice of VNS, 3358 Ridgewood Rd, Akron, Ohio 44333.
