Giovanna Lucia Pianalto

Giovanna Lucia Pianalto died March 11, 2017, surrounded by her family.
She was born in Laveno-Monbello, Italy, on January 19, 1918, and at the age of 49, moved with her family to Akron, Ohio. She will always be remembered for her endless generosity, unending devotion to her family and faith and rock-solid inner strength in times of sacrifice.
Preceded in death by her husband, Lino, and daughter, Giannina, she will be deeply missed by her daughter and son-in-law Renata and Luciano De Luca; grandsons and granddaughters Michael DeLuca, Paul and Missi DeLuca, Michael Lino D'Agruma, Stefano and Nicole D'Agruma and Rosella and Adam Groves; great-grandchildren Cole and Emma DeLuca and Olivia and Elijah Groves; and many nephews, nieces and other family members living both in the United States and Italy.
Special thanks to friends and to Summa at Home for their nurturing care.
Funeral Service will be held Saturday, 10:00 am - 11:30 at the Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main Street in Akron, and at noon at St. Paul Catholic Church, followed by internment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
