Gernard W. Drayer, Jr. (Bud), beloved husband of the late Wilma Drayer (nee Moskovis); dearest brother of Luella Long and Carol (Tom) Nuzzo; and the late Ray (Geraldine, deceased), Ralph (Bernice, deceased) and Roger (Mary); dear uncle, great uncle; and friend to many.

Bud was born in Tallmadge, Ohio on December 6, 1934 to the late Gernard W. Drayer and Martha Cato Drayer. He was a graduate of Springfield High School and Kent State University. He worked many years as a chemist, including most recently for the Environmental Protection Agency. Bud also served in the United States Air Force and was stationed for two years in the Azores.

Bud was known for his great sense of humor. He was a member of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church and also was a volunteer at Summa Barberton Hospital. He loved reading especially history, taking nature walks, and he loved animals of all kinds.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 18 at 10:30 am at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 3204 Ridgewood Rd., Fairlawn, Ohio where the family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 am until the time of the service. Interment Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery,

Bud's family would like to thank the staff at Brookdale Montrose and Remembrance Hospice for all their loving care during his illness.
