Gerald Lordi

Gerald Lordi, 76, passed away on May 2, 2024.
Gerald was born in Youngstown, OH on December 1, 1947 to the late Joseph & Betty Lordi. He was a 1965 graduate of Youngstown Chaney High School and received his degree in mechanical engineering from Youngstown State University. He worked for Firestone Tire & Rubber as an engineer, traveling abroad to China, Chile, Mexico, and other foreign destinations for his work. He retired from Middough Engineering in 2018. Jerry was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Barberton. He enjoyed spending time with his children as a coach for Norton Girls Softball and as a Scout leader. Jerry loved taking care of his yard and mowing the lawn. Most of all, Jerry loved spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his brother George Lordi. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Michaeleen; his children Joseph, Matthew, & Lisa (James) Metcalf; grandchildren Owen, Avery, & Kaylee; sister Kathryn Kish and sister-in-law Kathy Lordi, as well as several nieces & nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 8, at 10:00 am, with family receiving friends beginning at 9 am, at St. Augustine Catholic Church 204 6th St NW, Barberton, OH 44203. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution in Jerry's memory to the church.
