Gerald 'Big Jerry' A. Fisher, 70, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on November 15, 2025.
Gerald was born in Covington, KY. on March 28, 1955 to the late Emmitte & Imogene Fisher and was a 1973 graduate of Hower Vocational School. He retired from Chandler Machine but worked most of his career for M & J Machine. He was a faithful member of Higher Praise Ministries of Akron. Gerald was a longtime & well-respected member of the Elks Lodge #1923 in Cuyahoga Falls and served as a District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler. He enjoyed playing bingo with his wife Sandra.
In addition to his parents, Gerald was preceded in death by his wife Sandra; brother David and sister Gina. He is survived by his children Gerald A. Fisher II, and Shawna (Tony) Arthur; grandchildren Kayla, Gerald III, Brandon, Elijah Fisher and Sierra & Tony, Jr. Arthur; his siblings Cherylene (Jack) Cottrill, Michael (Aleta) Fisher, Tanya (Jack) Oakes, Kimberly (Larry) Prince, Valerie (Mike Taylor) Taylor, & Shanna 'Mickey' (Hermon) Ferrell, as well as numerous nieces & nephews and other family.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, from 5-7 pm, at the Anthony Funeral Home - Akron Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 11 am, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron.
