George Motil

George Motil, 86, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Akron City Hospital.
Born to the late Andrew and Mary Motil in Barnesboro, PA on February 21, 1930, George came to Akron after being discharged from the Air Force around 1950. He married his beloved wife, Elizabeth Pastriko in 1949, and raised their four sons. George retired from Goodyear in 1993. He loved to play poker & go to the casinos. George was an avid fisherman, and he loved his dog Brandy. He was a huge, devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan. George was a member of the former St. John the Baptist Catholic Church for many years.
In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his Wife of 47 years, Elizabeth. He is survived by his sons Thomas (Deborah), Paul (Billie), Raymond (Diane), and Mark (Vikki); sister Barbara Shimko; and numerous grandchildren & great-grandchildren.
The family will receive from 6-8PM on Wednesday, June 15 at the Anthony Funeral Homes, Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S Main St. in Akron. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11AM at the funeral home, where the family will receive for 1 hour prior to the service. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
