George Maneese Lewis, age 86, of Sugar Grove, Ohio, passed away peacefully Sunday, February 18, 2024 at home. He died with caring family by his side.

George is preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary, his daughter, Mary Elizabeth, his brother William and his Great-Grandchild Brody; George is survived by his brothers James (Ferol) and Donald (Elizabeth); his sons Chris, James (Lisa), and Danny; Grandchildren Andrew (Tiffany), Jonathan (Katie), Heather (Jeremy) Novitski, Eric (Jordanne), and Danielle (Adam) Jacobs; and Great-Grandchild Graham.

George was born September 9, 1937 in Tallmadge, Ohio to James and Mildred; George was a sergeant in the Army National guard where he served for 6 years. He graduated from Akron University and retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber. On September 9th, 1961 he married Mary Jane Cook.  George and Mary were longtime residents of Stow, Ohio where they attended Holy Family Catholic Church, and Santa Rosa Beach, Florida until Mary's death in 2016, at which time George returned to Ohio.

Family and friends may call on Sunday, March 3rd from 5 to 7 pm at Dunn-Quigley Funeral Home in Stow, Ohio. On Monday March 4th, Mass will take place at Holy Family Catholic Church in Stow, Ohio at 10:00am with interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cure Alzheimer's Fund- curealz.org or your local humane society.
