Gene James Wise

Canal Fulton - Gene J. Wise, 84, passed away Thursday, December 10, 2015 at the Hospice Care Center.
The youngest of nine children, Gene was born December 22, 1930 to David and Katherine (Menser) Wise in Akron and had been a Canal Fulton resident since 1968. He was employed by Ohio Edison as a substation designer for 38 years retiring in 1995. He was a member of High Street Christian Church.
Gene volunteered for over 15 years at both Akron General and the VNS Hospice Care Center, and the Red Cross.
Gene was preceded in death by his beloved wife Patricia in 2000 and was the last of 8 siblings. He is survived by his children Gene (Fiona) Wise, Jeffrey (Kim) Wise and Lisa (Scott) Bookheimer; grandchildren Trevor, Miranda, Katlyn Renee and Jeffrey William Wise and Emily Bookheimer; great grandson Jaxson Wise.
The family will receive friends Monday from 4 to 7 pm at the Anthony and Son Funeral Home, 4178 Massillon Road, Uniontown, OH 44685 (Corner of Massillon and Steese Roads in Green, entrance off of Steese). Funeral services are Tuesday 11:00 am at the funeral home with interment immediately following at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Akron General Medical Center.
