Fred Anthony Hager

Fred A. Hager Jr., 73, of Green, loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on February 16th, 2024, following a brief illness.

He was born in Akron, Ohio, attended St. Francis de Sales school, graduated from Archbishop Hoban High School, and received an honorable discharge from the U.S. Marine Corps. He worked at General Tire for 15 years and retired from Kent State University where he had worked in IT Tech for 16 years.

He enjoyed woodworking, model trains, building model ships, and playing the guitar every day.

Fred is preceded in death by his father, Fred A. Hager Sr. and his mother, Evelyn Hager.

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Yumiko (Sagara); his children, son Fred (Carol) Hager III, Melissa (Drew) Nagy, and Amy Hager (Joe Hiser); five wonderful grandchildren, Christian, Spencer, Drew, Ethan, and Hunter; sister's, Joanne Underwood, Betty Robinson, Dee (Rocco) Masiella, and Judy (Lee) Christine, along with generations of nieces and nephews.

Fred will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.

Calling hours will take place on Friday, February 23, 2024, at 11 a.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel (1990 S. Main St Akron OH 44301) immediately followed by a service at noon.
