Francisco Paul Ninni, 98, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2023.
Frank was born in Brooklyn, NY on September 8, 1925 and was raised on Akron's North Hill. He attended North High School, before enlisting in the US Army (83rd Infantry) in 1943, receiving the Purple Heart of injuries received during the Battle of the Bulge. Upon his return from service, he, along with his brother Vince, joined their father Anthony and helped to grow Ninni's Italian Bakery. For several generations, Ninni's served authentic Italian wedding cakes and pastries to the Akron community and abroad.
Frankie loved golfing, bowling, and baseball, but was truly passionate about restoring sports cars and fixing anything with his mechanical ability. He was truly a jack of all trades. Frank was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was a loving and generous man who will always be remembered by everyone he touched.
Frank was preceded in death by his brothers Vince & Nick and his sister Camille. He is survived by his beloved wife of 73 years, Teresa; sons Tony (Judy) & David (Sabine) Ninni; grandchildren Kimberly Norman, Toni Webb, & Aric (Heather) Ninni, as well as 8 great-grandchildren.
The family, will receive friends at 10 am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am, on Wednesday, December 20, at Queen Of Heaven Catholic Church 1900 Steese Rd. in Green.
