Frank John Licause

Frank J. LiCause, 91, passed away Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Green Village.
Frank was born September 23, 1926 to Vito and Mary (Vingi) LiCause in Akron and had been an area resident his entire life. He was employed by Diamond Crystal Salt for over 40 years retiring in 1991.  He was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Frank was an avid golfer.  He was a veteran of the US Navy during WWII, serving in the Pacific as "Frogman" and member of UDT-22.
Frank was a loving husband and father.  He had many talents and could do, build and fix most  anything. The family just called Dad not knowing what it was to call a mechanic or repairman.  They always participated and learned by 'holding the light.'   Frank is survived by his wife of 64 years, Joanna (Virostko); children Stephanie, Matthew (Roseann), Michael (Gina) and Victor (Linda) LiCause; grandchildren Angela (Billy) Caley-Thomas and David, Daniel, Patricia and John (Hannah) LiCause; sister-in-law Margaret Virostko; many nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers Jack, Louie, Solly and Joseph; sisters Bridgette, Anntoinette and Francesca.
The family will receive friends Thursday 5 to 8 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. Akron, OH 44301.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 1:30 pm at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 4019 Manchester Road. Akron, OH 44319.  Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church and Covenant House New York, NY.
