Frank Donald Birklund

Frank Birklund, 89, passed away Thursday, December 14, 2017 after a brief illness.
Frank was born November 27, 1928 to the late Carl and Anna (Hill) Birklund in Akron. He retired from Ohio Bell after 35 years of service. He was a member of the Barberton Moose and the Telephone Pioneers of America. He was a WWII veteran serving in the U.S. Navy.
In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his brother Carl Jr. and daughter-in-law Renee Birklund. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Phyllis (Wilhelm); children Gail Pedersen, Beth Eisele (Bill), Thomas Birklund (Michele Bates) and Linda Junk (Jim); grandchildren Dana Brandenburg (Russ), Jennifer Jackson (Michael), Reed Birklund (Kelly), David Eisele, Kevin Pedersen, Daniel Junk (Christina), Kara Pedersen, Katie Stroney (Paul), Andrew Motz (Allison) and Nicholas Junk (Emily); great grandchildren Evan, Collin, Grayson, Jude, Cailen, Jameson, Marina and Ruby.
Frank loved to travel and enjoyed taking yearly vacations to Hilton Head Island with his family. He was an avid bowler and always enjoyed a nice cold Busch beer.
Per Frank's request cremation has taken place and there will be no calling hours. Private interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
