Flora P. Grossmayer, 96, fell asleep in the Lord on Friday, September 25, 2015.
She was born in Akron and was a member of Presentation of Our Lord Orthodox Church. She was a Past Church Council Member and Past President of the Church Ladies Auxiliary for 10 years. She was also a member of the Orthodox Christian Women's Association and a Board Member to National "ARFORA". Mrs. Grossmayer also cooked for the Church Youth at Camp Vatra for 17 years. She worked for B.F. Goodrich during World War II and retired from the F. W. Albrecht Company.
Flora was preceded in death by her parents, Vaseli and Sophia Vasei; husband, Leonard (Leonte) Grossmayer; brother, Theodore Vasei; and sisters, Helen Sokol and Elsie Treharne. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lenora and Deacon Wayne Wright; grandson, Matthew Wright; granddaughter, Melissa (Jeffrey) Kennard; great-grandchildren, Madeline, Braden and William Wright and Griffin and Olive Kennard; sisters, Mary Taylor and Sarah (Arthur) Zimmerli; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, 10 a.m. at the Presentation of Our Lord Orthodox Church, 3365 Ridgewood Rd. Fairlawn, Ohio 44333 where Flora will lie in state one hour prior to service. Very Rev. Dr. Ian G. Pac-Urar officiating. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. The family will receive friends Monday, 5 to 8 p.m. AT THE CHURCH where a Saracusta service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Donations may be made to the church in her memory.
