Evelyn Louisa (Blasdel) Nanashe, 101, went to be with her husband John in Heaven on November 10, 2024.
Evelyn was born on November 4, 1923 in Akron to the late Kenneth & Hermina Blasdel. She was a graduate of Garfield High School and worked as a nurse at Hawthornden State Hospital. She worked for many years in the food service & hospitality industry as a culinary artist. Evelyn was involved in Girl Scouts of America and started the first multi-racial troop in the Akron area. She enjoyed baking, and gathering family and friends together for food and fellowship.
In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband John; her son John P. Nanashe; brother Kenneth & Carl Blasdel; sisters Roberta DeSure & Marion Ferguson. She is survived by her children Barbara Broida, Christina McCann, Mary (Cliff) Helsel, & Richard (Lori) Nanashe, as well as 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren & great-great-grandchildren.
Evelyn will be laid to rest alongside her husband, on Friday, November 15, 2024, 12:45 pm at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
