Evan Philip Lewis

June 11, 1978 — October 29, 2025

Evan Lewis, 47, of Munroe Falls, passed away unexpectedly on October 29th, 2025.

"I'm a rockstar and racecar driver," is how he would describe himself if asked - always with a grin that showed he almost believed it. The list of titles that he should have also included were many: dog dad. husband. brother. son. best friend. cheerleader. mentor. teacher. professional driver on a closed course. Enthusiast of all things Lego, Puma, Mazda, MINI, Toyota, and Audi (one of four, he'd have you know).

He was a man with a full heart laid bare, quick to tell those he cared for that he loved them - early and often. He had the kind of loyalty that anchored every room he walked into, and the kind of hug that melted problems, built bridges, and soothed fears.

To those that knew him on the track, he was the precise and patient instructor, steadily coaching drivers through their insecurities and fears - through his guidance, many drivers held their breath while learning they didn't have to lift at the kink. Watching his students chip away at their braking zones, lift duration, and lap times was a massive source of pride and satisfaction for him, and he spent many summers at the track shaping new drivers, and helping even the experienced fine-tune their craft. He was both mentor and mischief-maker, the one who could teach you to drive faster and laugh harder in the same breath, and he truly believed that the best lessons happened sideways in a controlled panic.

On the stage or in the studio, Evan was a bass player with a groove that matched his soul - steady, thoughtful, precise, and joyful. Playing with local bands over the years, he had the kind of natural talent and rhythm that made everyone else sound better. He often mentioned that synergy between a drum and bass player, when aligned just right, was something electric and rare - "oh, that was nasty*, " he'd grin, describing it.

Evan was a man with more friends than most people meet in a lifetime, and his friendships were the heartbeat of his world. He collected people the way some collect records - each one treasured, each one played often. His phone was rarely silent; if he wasn't giving advice on an engine build or a relationship, he was just checking in to make sure someone was okay. If you were his friend, you were family. And if you ever needed him, no matter the hour or reason, he was already halfway out the door before you finished asking.

At home, he was soft and steady; the heartbeat of The House Of Love. A man who believed dogs deserve sweaters, who made space for laughter in the ordinary or absurd, and showed deep love through small acts - a midnight snack run, a repair, a touch, a recognition of what someone needed before they could admit it themselves. Millie was his constant companion and SoulDog, never far from his side, and quick to let the house know of her displeasure if he was in another room. Their love transcended man and dog - she was the center of his universe, and he was her sun and stars.

Evan's life was so very full - of motion, music, and meaning. He will be remembered for his quick and genuine smile, his terrible dad jokes, his fierce loyalty and support, and for making everyone he knew feel seen, valued, and loved - every single day.

He is survived by his wife and soulmate, Jen, beloved pets dogs Millie, Charlie, and Frankie; his parents Phillip Lewis and Janet Lahr Lewis; stepmother Carole Lewis; sister Tegan Lewis; and his brother, Adam Lewis.Calling hours will be held from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 8th at Anthony Funeral Home- Akron Chapel 1990 S Main Street, Akron OH 44301.
