Eva Ann (Ann) C. Hubiak, 88, peacefully passed away on October 6, 2026.
Ann was born August 7, 1938 in Akron to Chester and Eva Lou Marshall nee Schmock. She was a graduate of St. Vincent High School and University of Akron where she received her master's degree in education. Ann was a teacher at Bath Elementary and Old Trail, later becoming the head of the lower school. After her retirement, she continued working as a student teacher advisor at multiple universities. Ann was a member of the Akron Garden Club and Keep Akron Beautiful Garden Club, president of Witan, volunteer at Stan Hywet, and on the gardening committee at St. Sebastian Catholic Church. She also enjoyed golfing and playing tennis. Ann was a lifelong fan of the Browns, Indians, and Cavaliers.
In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her husband Nicholas in 2004; brothers Tom and Charles Marshall; sisters Valerie Potter and Monica Burley. She is survived by daughter Milissa (James) Wikman; son David Carter; son Stephen (Renee) Carter; grandchildren Annika (Josh) Rains, Emily (Blake) Carsey, Margaret Carter, Lillian Carter; great-grandchildren Preston, Parker, Porter, Charlotte, and Merritt; siblings Clara Taipale, Hannah Marshall, Cynthia Marshall-Petroff, and Chester Marshall; nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place Saturday, October 17 at 11:00 AM at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 476 Mull Ave. in Akron. Calling hours will take place for one hour prior at the church. Private interment at St. Nicholas Cemetery, 1616 Krumroy Rd. in Akron. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Sebastian's parish gardens, The Village of St. Edward at Fairlawn family life department, or Old Trail school.
