After a long fight with a Traumatic Brain Injury 11 months ago, Ernie peacefully passed away at home with family.
He was born and raised in New Jersey. Ernie was a Korean Army Veteran. He moved to Akron, Ohio and worked for Consolidated Freightways.
Ernie enjoyed his time with his family, his fishing trips to Lake Chautauqua, boating and watching OSU and Browns football games with his daughter Kelly and his grandkids Alyssa, Landen and Kyle. He loved his wife of 49 years and fought to the last minute to stay with her. A few weeks before Ernie passed he said, "You can't keep an old dog down."
Ernie is survived by his wife Kristin Wolke, his children Adam Prokop (Beth), Sharon Ferguson (Rocky), Kelly Wolke, his grandchildren and great grandchildren and many family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his six siblings and his son Michael Wolke.

Calling hours will be held Friday, June 14 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron, followed by a service at 7:00 PM. Ernie will be interred at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery on Wednesday, June 26 at 10:45 AM.
