Ernasteen Laura Jones

Ernasteen L. Jones, 92, passed away Tuesday, December 21, 2021.
She was born in Akron and was a lifetime resident of the area. She worked for the Manchester School System for over 21 years in the Kitchen and as a Bus Driver until 1987. She was a member of Cornerstone Church. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and reading. Ernasteen loved babies and her boys.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Grealie and Bethel (Thompson) Bailey; sons, David, Mark and Norman Jones II; grandson, Mark Jones; sisters, Thelma Bailey and Bernadeen Miller; and daughter-in-law, Patty Jones. She is survived by her husband of 73 years, Norman E. Jones; son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Kathleen Jones; daughters-in-law, Linda, Karen and Debra Jones; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren and step-great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, December 30, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Cornerstone Church, 2445 S. Arlington Rd. Akron, Ohio 44319, with Pastor Brenda Young officiating. Interment at St. Jacob Cemetery in Lake Township. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home of Green, 4178 Massillon Rd. Uniontown, Ohio 44685 (at the roundabout, corner of Steese and Massillon Rd., entrance off of Steese Rd.) and on Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
