Eric John Christopher Borsos lost his 21 year battle with Multiple Sclerosis on September 27, 2025. Although a fierce warrior in meeting his medical challenges, Eric was a kind, gentle soul with a passion for art and music.
Eric attended St. Augustine School in Barberton and was a 1975 graduate of Barberton High School. After earning his Bachelor's Degree in Fine Art from The University of Akron in 1980, Eric's dream was to be an artist and hold gallery shows. His "American Gothic" painting placed 3rd at the Ohio State Fair. Eric was a realist, so he took a position with the Ohio Department of Transportation for 25 years, working his way from a laborer to snow warrior to transportation technician and project manager. Eric never had his gallery showing, however thousands see his artistic talent everyday in the roadways of Central Ohio.
Eric was preceded in death by his parents, George and Genevieve Borsos; favorite aunts Anna Martinus and Helen Szczepanski. He is survived by his spouse Marta Savula; siblings Georgene (Jim) Lytle, Charles (Carole Shwery), Mark (Kathy), and John (Clare) Borsos; many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews; cousin David Shuttleworth; mother-in-law Marion Francesconi; in-laws Marie (Timothy Smith), Michael (Debbie), and Matthew (Kimberly) Savula.
Many thanks to longtime caregivers Ruth Mickens and Evelyn Owusu; friend Paul Barnes; and to the staff at Hospice of Central Ohio, especially Ashleigh, Ali, Vickie, Amber, Amy, Irene and Thurasa.
The family will receive friends on Monday, October 13 at 1PM at the Anthony Funeral Homes- Akron Chapel, 1990 S Main in in Akron. A graveside service will be held immediately following at 2PM at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron.
