Emil Nagy, 77, passed away Monday, February 24, 2014 at his home. He was born in Budapest, Hungary in 1936 and came to the United States and Akron in 1956 at the age of 20. He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. Mr. Nagy was a meat cutter with 44 years of service working for Hummels IGA, Acme and Apples. He was an amazing cook and enjoyed gardening, woodworking, fishing and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene in 2008 to whom he was married to for 49 ½ years. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Maryanna and Ed Miller; son, John Nagy; sister, Erzsebet Nagy in Hungary; grandchildren, Gabrielle, Skylar and Annastasia Nagy and Devin and Melissa Miller; and special dear friend, Abe Gild. Funeral Requiem Mass will be held Friday, 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 450 Dennison Ave. Akron, Ohio 44312. (PLEASE NOTE: PROCESSION TO FORM AT THE CHURCH). Fr. Gabriel Lavery celebrant. Interment at Lakewood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, 5 to 7 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S.
