Emil G. Butch Katona, age 75, passed away on December 5, 2025 in Akron, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Helen Katona; his sister, Elaine (Harold) Hayes; his niece, Diana (Allan) Thomas; and his special friend, Dotty.

A lifelong resident of Akron, Butch spent his years working and building a life rooted in the community he loved. Known for his warm personality and his sharp eye for unique treasures, he was an avid collector of toys and antique items. He found great joy in visiting flea markets, auctions and shops - always searching for the next great addition to his collection.

He is survived by nieces, Laura (Garry) Lamtman and Roberta Dean, and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Brandy (Ben) Gobrogge, Angel Thomas, Jamie Lamtman, Cory Dean, Allan Thomas, Clay Thomas, and Paige Lamtman.

Friends may call from 10 to 12pm on Monday, December 15,2025 at the Dunn-Quigley Funeral Home (811 Grant St., Akron). A graveside service will follow at 1:00 pm at Holy Cross Cemetery, Waterloo, Rd, Akron OH. Family and friends are invited to come together to celebrate Butch's life to share stories, laughter, and memories.

Butch may have left this world, but his spirit will remain in our hearts. Rest in peace, Butch. You will be

missed deeply.
