Eloise Hagans

January 13, 1932 — February 14, 2018

Eloise Hagans, 86, passed away peacefully on Valentine's Day, February 14, 2018, the most appropriate day for such a loving, caring, and unselfish person. Eloise was born in Flushing, OH on January 13, 1932 to the late Bertha Mabel & Howard Isaac Howell. Eloise worked as a medical technologist for over 45 years for Akron Children's Hospital, St. Thomas Hospital, and Barberton Citizen's Hospital, retiring in 1997. Eloise loved to travel as well as spending time with her family & friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her in-laws Jessie & Carl Hagans; nephew Stuart Hartin & niece Bertha Horvath; brothers & sister-in-law Walton Howell & Isaac & Marguerite Howell, Jr.; sisters and brothers-in-law Virginia & Richard Seidel, Lila & James Hartin, and Martha & Virgil Reed; twin sisters-in-law and husbands Geneva & Ed Lightner and Genese & Orin McDowell. Eloise is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Ronald; beloved daughter Susan Kay Kilbourne; granddaughter Jennifer Lee (Robert) Kohler and Grandson David William (Andrea) Kilbourne; great-grandchildren Trent & Harrison Kohler and Adelaide & Reid Kilbourne; sisters Betty (Biddle) Brown & Sue (Fred) Cooney, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many special friends. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all of the nurses and staff at Barberton Manor Care for their love & support during her time there. A special thanks also to Eloise's niece, Carol Jean Howell, for all her help and support over the years. A celebration of Eloise's life will take place on Saturday, February 24, at 1pm, at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron, where the family will receive friends beginning at 11 am until the time of the service. A reception will follow at the funeral home immediately after the service.
