Elizabeth L. Ruttig, "Betty" 82, passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at her home.
She was born in Akron, graduated from Coventry High School in 1961 and was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. She enjoyed knitting and donating her masterpieces, reading everything there was to read, baking cakes & cookies and watching movies; going out to the theatre or staying in to cozy up on the couch. She also enjoyed square dancing with the Rittman Grand Squares and traveling and visiting new places. She dearly loved being a great Oma to her favorite little girl, Ellah.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Louise (Kuba) Hohl; husband, Daniel Ruttig; brothers, Leo and Art Hohl; and sister-in-law, Jayne Hohl. She is survived by her daughters, Amanda (Brian) Fulton, Beth Vandever (David Fernando) and Christine Curtiss; sister, Jeannette Dugan; grandchildren, Will (Jess) Morris, David Morris (Natalie Richards) and Matthew Curtiss; great-granddaughter, Ellah Morris; and many nieces, nephews and friends. The family wishes to give a special thank you to Cheryl and the staff at Traditions Hospice.
The family will receive friends Saturday, November 23, 2024 from 2 to 3 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, 550 E. Wilbeth Rd. Akron, Ohio 44301 where a Memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. with a dinner following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church.
