Edward Lee Stratford

Edward Lee Stratford, 80, went home to be with the Lord on May 9, 2022 after a brief, but courageous fight with cancer.
Eddie was born in Highland Park, IL on July 06, 1941 to the late Edward and Lulu Stratford and had lived in Cuyahoga Falls for over 20 years. He worked for CTX Cenol in Lodi. He was a member of Chapel of Prayer Baptist Church in Akron. He was a member of the American Legion in Cuyahoga Falls and the Moose of Antioch, IL. Eddie was an avid bowler and loved spending time with his grandson Gabe Zoran.
Eddie is survived by his wife of 19 years, Pam; step-son Zachary Zoran; grandson Gabe Zoran; brothers Terry (Paulette) & Rick (Pat) Stratford; nieces Nanette, Cassie, Terri, Kim, and Toni & nephew Ricky, as well as many loving in-laws.
Special thanks to Dr. Manson, the Cooper Cancer Center (especially John from infusion), Hospice of Summa, and the Falls Cancer Club for their compassionate care and support.
Much love from in-laws, friends, and family kept Eddie fighting. Eddie had a rich life because of knowing Jesus. The support of the OA Fellowship, the Chapel of Prayer Baptist Church Community, as well as the prayers from people all over the world, and the grace received from the Lord helped sustain Eddie. Come join us to celebrate his home going to the place where there is no pain and suffering, where peace, love and joy is all around. Absent from the body, present with the Lord.
A funeral service will take place on Monday, May 16, at 12 pm, Pastor Sherman Bailey presiding, at the Chapel of Prayer Baptist Church 1811 Brittain Rd, Akron, OH 44310, where the family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. A private inurnment will take place with full military honors at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
