Edward L. Sagedy

Edward L. Sagedy (Ed), 67, of Charlotte, North Carolina passed away Sunday, June 21, 2015 following a brief illness.
He was born in Akron, Ohio on March 11, 1948 to the late William (Bill) and Elizabeth (Betty) Sagedy. He was a graduate of Garfield High School and attended the University of Akron. He umpired baseball and softball in the Akron area and vicinity. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during the Vietnam War and retired from Raschig USA Inc. after a 30 year career in water treatment equipment sales. He was an avid golfer with 2 holes in one and an avid bowler having rolled 2 - 300 games.
He is survived by his wife, Betty (Herhold) Sagedy; brother and sister-in-law, David and Kathy Herhold of Barberton; and niece, Kelly Sherman and her husband, Mike of Wadsworth.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, 2 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. Akron, Ohio 44301 where the family will receive friends from 12 to 2 p.m. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
