Edward Earl Lavery, Jr., 77, passed away surrounded by family, on May 3, 2024.
Ed was born in Akron on June 8, 1946 to the late Edward Sr. & Laudice Lavery and was a 1964 graduate of Kenmore High School. Ed worked for Firestone Tire & Rubber Co., St. Thomas Hospital and retired as a baker from Finast Grocery Stores.
Ed was a wonderful father and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was an avid golfer, he loved his Irish heritage, St. Patrick's Day and the Hibernian Club. Ed was a prepper and always loved to be prepared.
In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his siblings Charlotte Carol, Robert, Gene & Terry. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Rita; his children Beverly (Donald) Smith, Edward III (fiance` Kim), Thomas, & Jonathon (Erlyn); grandchildren Kara (James) Swearingen, Kylynne (Adam) Reedy, Jessica (Kelly Parker) Smith, & Brittany, Branden, Sophia, Parker, & Emilia Lavery; great-grandchildren Joselynn, Corbin, Brazen, Weslynn, Arya & Lyla; sisters Jennifer Warner & Monica (David) Hileman.
A Celebration of Ed's Life will take place on Friday, May 10, at 12 pm, with the family receiving friends for one hour prior, at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Ed's memory to the Crossroads Hospice 3743 Boettler Oaks Dr Suite E, Uniontown, OH 44685.
