Edward J. Pollard

Edward 'Eddie' J.Pollard, Jr., 65, passed away on June 28, 2024.
Eddie was born on August 7, 1958 to the late Edward & Louise Pollard and was a 1976 graduate of Walsh Jesuit High School. He served his country for 9 years as a member of the US Navy aboard the USS Nimitz, and was part of the operation to free the Iranian hostages in 1980. He also appeared in a cameo role, aboard the Nimitz, as a Navy Seaman in the 1980 movie, The Final Countdown. Before suffering a stroke in 2012, Eddie worked as an IT Specialist, using the skills that he learned as a display equipment operator and computer programmer in the navy. Eddie was a musician, teaching himself to play the guitar and the piano.
Eddie is survived by his son Austin; his sister Mary Jo Bittner; brother Mike (Cindy) Pollard, as well as nieces and nephews.
Eddie will be laid to rest next to his parents, with full military honors, at All Saints Cemetery in Northfield on Monday July 8, at 11 am. (Anthony - FALLS CHAPEL)
