Earl E. Hawes (Pete), passed away on Monday, January 4, 2021 after a long illness from Heart Failure.
Pete was born in Akron and lived in this area all of his life. After High School, he served in the Navy for four years. After discharge he worked at Goodyear and graduated from the University of Akron with a business degree. He retired from Goodyear with 33 years of service.
He was predeceased by his parents, Earl and Gertie Hawes. He is survived by his sister, Shirley Breth and her family; wife, Barbara; and many nephews and nieces.
Pete loved boating, water skiing and playing tennis. He also loved watching all sports on TV, especially football.
Private Graveside Services will be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio on January 12, 2021. A Celebration of Pete's life will be held at a later date. If desired, memorials may be sent to St. Jude's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105. (Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, Akron)
