It is with deep sadness that the family of Douglas Eugene Herbert-Doing (42) announces his passing on April 1st, 2025. Born June 25th 1982 in Warren Ohio. Growing up Doug was constantly moving. An accomplished roller skater having won the title of National Paris Roller Skating Champion and had earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He is survived by his husband of eight years, John Herbert-Doing and their son Patrick, his parents Dennis and Sharon Doing, sister Michelle (Joshua) Haggerty, Aunt Lisa (Doug) Boldt, uncles William, Bobbie and Charles (Lynda) Cottrill and grandmother Virgie (Bo) Doing as well as nieces Adele and Claire, nephews Lucas, Jaxon and Daniel, and Cousin Raven with many more cousins and close friends. Doug's also a cherished member of his extended in-law family. Doug, at his core, was a caretaker. He loved taking care of his boys, as he called them, and loved hosting friends and family at their Wadsworth home. Never one to shy away from a good dad joke, Doug was always smiling, laughing and filling the lives of those around him with joy. Above all else, he loved his family and friends tremendously and will be deeply missed.
Service will begin with a procession starting at Anthony Funeral Homes 1990 S. Main St. Akron, OH 44301 at 1:30 pm Thursday April 10th. They will depart at 1:45 and continue to Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at 10175 Rawiga Road Seville, OH 44273 for a service at 2:45 pm. There will be a celebration of life following services at The Firestone VFW #3383 at 690 W. Waterloo Rd. in Akron Ohio 44314.
