Dorothy Agnes Thoerig

Dorothy A. "Dottie" (Winn) Thoerig, 93, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at Greenview Assisted Living Care Center in Green, Ohio where she had been a resident for the last 8 years.

She was born in Mt. Savage, Maryland and came to Akron in 1953. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church where she was very active six days a week, St. Paul's Ladies Guild and she was a Eucharistic Minister. Our Mother is an Angel in disguise. She was truly a servant of God. She loved her God and Church. She helped all with open arms. She now rests with her Creator. Mom, you will be missed by many. Amen.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, William and Agnes (Walsh) Winn; husband of 55 years, John W. "Pete" Thoerig; son, Bill; and brother and sister-in-law, Francis and Joey Winn. She is survived by sons, John W. (Donna) Thoerig, Jr. and Richard (Linda) Thoerig; grandchildren, Kelly McAfee, Carrie (Jerry) Simon and Douglas, Lacy and Kim Thoerig; great-grandchildren, Steven (Megan) Altman, Kamden, Kell'n, Ella, Emma, Carsen and Cole; and great-great-grandchildren, Stella and Jameson.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, 11 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1580 Brown St. Akron, Ohio 44301 where the family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Masks and Social Distancing Required. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Donations may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church, 433 Mission Dr. Akron, Ohio 44301. (Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, Akron)
