Dorothy Marie Royle

Dorothy (Dudra) Royle passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday February 27th, 2014 in her home. Dottie never gave up her fight during her two (2) year courageous battle with cancer.
Dottie was born in Akron on September 28, 1926 to Samuel and Martha Dudra. She married Howard "Howie" Royle and was blessed with three (3) wonderful daughters. She worked as an executive secretary at Firestone. She was a member of the U.N.A. 180, and spent time volunteering for Summa Health System. She especially enjoyed golfing, bowling, traveling, playing bridge, and dancing. Dottie was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.
Dottie was preceded in death by her former husband, Howard; siblings Ann Buckson, Annetta Daley, Judy Tyrrell, Andrew, Steve, Samuel Jr. and Eva; she is survived by her many nieces and nephews and daughters Karen (Jeffery) Layne, Kathy Royle (John Knowles), Kristy Royle; and granddaughters Erin & Emily Layne.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron where a Parastas service will be held at 5:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church 3179 Kent Rd., Stow, OH 44224. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. (Anthony, Akron, 330-724-1281, www.anthonyfh.com)
